Hi.
I'm having problems updating the BIOS on my motherboard to F11.
Q-Flash says there's an ID check error and @BIOS reports "BIOS Partnumber(AWARD) is not correct"
When using @BIOS to try and download a BIOS file from the internet, the only version it finds is F10...and I already have that.I tried re-flashing it with F10 and there was no difference.
I've tried downloading the F11 file from different servers but with the same result.
Any ideas whats happened?

Hi D_arkTrooper
Have you checked the checksum (C300) while updating F11 BIOS by Q-flash / @BIOS ?
What version of @BIOS did you use? Would it be possible to update it ?
We have validated that F10 updates to F11 by 2 ways of Q-Flash tool successfully, floppy and USB flash. Here are configurations tested...
M/B: GA-P35-DS3R (Rev.2.0)
BIOS: F10 updates to F11
CPU: Intel E6750
Memory: Kingston DDR2-667 512MB*1pc
Power supply: FSP

I was originally using the version of @BIOS which was supplied with the motherboard, but even after updating to v1.23 I am still having the same issue.
Using Q-Flash with either floppy disk or USB flash drive still gives me the same error.
Sorry,I don't understand what you mean about checking the checksum (C300).Could you please clarify what I need to do to do this?

Since the last post,I managed to make a bootable floppy disk with the F11 update. However during installation,I again got the "Bios ID error message".
Out of curiosity,I tried the F11 files for the v1.0 and 2.1 board revisions (mines 2.0) and got the same errors with them all.
Also tried reflashing with an older bios (F7) and got the same error.

Hi
regarding the checksum , it's message shown during upgrade process but before you confirm to upgrade. Please just look at the screen before final confirmation. It should show you the checksum.
If it's C300 that means the file you are using is OK.
Very strange that you recieve the same error using different boards.
Please make sure that you loaded "Optimized Defaults" of BIOS Setup first.
Hope it will help
Bye

Just tried again after loading the Optimized Defaults and deactivating the anti-virus.
From @BIOS the only available update was F10.
I downloaded this from the first server in Taiwan.
This installed fine and told me to reboot the PC to finish, which I then did.
I then went back into the BIOS and reloaded the Optimized Defaults.
Back in Vista,I ran @BIOS again and ticked the box next to Find BIOS from GigaByte and clicked Update New Bios.
I selected each server in turn (servers 1 and 2 in Taiwan,China,Japan and USA) and each one would only find the F10 update.
Unchecking the box and selecting my own previously downloaded F11 file (of which I have 3 different versions) resulted in the progress bar reaching 100% before the ""BIOS Partnumber(AWARD) is not correct"
Sorry, there is no indication of any checksum message.

Hello
can you try with the file we used for testing with OK result (bios F11 attached) ?
-
Hi.
Thank you for posting the test file.
Unfortunately, having again tried to update with @BIOS,I again have the same error message "BIOS Partnumber(AWARD) is not correct"
-
Hello
Very strange indeed. Are you sure you have P35-DS3R model, not the other one ? Please check the marking on the PCB of your MB. I assume that you have this one indeed. As the message "BIOS Partnumber(AWARD) is not correct" usually occurs when trying to load bios from the other model of mb ...
And please use Q-Flash to make upgrade

I can confirm it's definately the GA-P35-DS3R motherboard rev.2.0.I have the box and instruction manual sitting right in front of me and I can clearly see the writing onthe pcb :)
I again just tried updating using the test file with Q-Flash and a bootable floppy disk and the same "Bios ID Error" message appears for both :(

Hi
we want to check the issue on site in our UK office by FAE. Can you send this problamatic mb rev.2.0 to us ?
-
Can you please provide postage address/details?
Thank you.
-
Look at the top left corner of the screen (below GIGABYTE" name), it should say "Hey D_rkTrooper, you have 1 message". There are all details for you.
-
Thank you.I got your messages :)

Hi there.
Just a quick message to confirm that I will be shipping the motherboard tomorrow (Friday).
Hope you have better luck than me figuring out what the problem could be. :)
-
Just to confirm its now actually posted and should be with you shortly.

Hello
we have received the MB but it's different model (GA-P35C-DS3R) , not the model you mentioned in the subject and body of your posts (GA-P35-DS3R).
How this happened ?

Andrew.
Just to let you know i have the exact same problem... With this board: GA-P35C-DS3R
I have gone through the same steps with the same exact results. I get the exact same error message and
can not update to F11.
So he is not the only one...
What should i do?

Hi
you need to use bios F11 for GA-P35C-DS3R listed below:
