Hi Guys
I've got a GA-EP45t-UD3LR running Windows 7 64 bit and i have it rigged to my home cinema system through the onboard s/pdif out connection. I've updated the realtek driver to the latest, I have set it to 2 channel with 44.1/48Khz output with spdif set as default. I got sound a couple of times after cold boots but it only lasted a minute or so and then nothing.
Any help would be great

Hi and welcome.
Check in Device Manager and see if there are any exclamation marks especially beside the sound card. If so you have a problem with it.
-
I've done that cheers. It seems as if its working but i don't get any sound! It has me baffled

Double check all your connections and make sure that you haven't got the "Mute" button selected.
-
checked and tested, still nothing.
-
Are you sure that you are using the correct connections ?
-
pretty sure. sound system has optical in, pc has optical out and i've got a optical cable to connect the 2, I've also had my old sound system connected via audio jack and i still don't get any sound.

Offhand then I can't think of anything but if something comes to mind I will post again. ;)

yeah no bother mate, it has me stumped! I've ordered a cheap sound card the day so i hope that may sort it. Thanks for the help

The only thing I can suggest is going through all the options in the audio side of things in the Control Panel as there are some well hidden options.

yeah been through all that over the last couple of days. i hope this sound card that comes the morra sorts it. if not then i'm out of ideas!
