Title: GA-X79-UD3 - what BIOS is default?
Post by: joonas905 on March 15, 2014, 09:09:08 pm
Hello, I just bought a new motherboard (GA-X79-UD3 rev1.1) and I'm not sure what BIOS version it has.
I'm asking this because I'm going to buy either i7-3930K or 4930K and I've heard that 4930K needs a BIOS update in order to work.
What BIOS version is "default"? At least F16 is needed.

I've bought my motherboard last month (February 2014).
I don't have a processor yet, so I cannot boot up and look for BIOS version.
Can someone please help me with this?

The only difference between the two is the 4930 is a little easier to over OC. Plus you do need a CPU to boot.

It does have the bios to boot either of the CPU's. It should have F16 and that supports both CPU's

Yes, I know that there's not that much difference but because I get 4930K cheaper than 3930K - that's because.
And I know that I need a CPU to boot, but I was just making sure that it doesn't cause any problems.

Thank you.
