GIGABYTE UK is pleased to announce Free Extended Warranty on a selected range of P55 motherboards directly to the end-users:

GA-P55A-UD5, GA-P55-UD5 - five years
GA-P55A-UD4, GA-P55-UD4 & GA-P55M-UD4 - four years
How to apply for it?
1. Register account at this Forum (if you already have one then no need to create a new one :))
2. Register the product within 30 (thirty) days of original purchase by sending email with subject "P55 extended warranty registration" to returns@gbt-tech.co.uk. The email must have attached proof of purchase (invoice or receipt) scanned or photographed and also contain following details:
Model name, Serial number (for "where to find" info check this link (http://forum.giga-byte.co.uk/index.php/topic,790.msg3517.html#msg3517)), First Name, Surname, Address, Postcode, Country and your Username in this Forum.
This email must be sent from the same address as registered at our forum for the Username.
3. After receiving above information you will be sent Extended Warranty Certificate. This will be needed in case of any future product's warranty claim.
4. In case of product failure you need to contact returns@gbt-tech.co.uk.
This extended warranty is based on the manufacture’s serial number.
It is available to the first owner of this Product only, and it is NOT transferable.
It applies only to products purchased in Mainland UK.
All Terms and Conditions are included in Extended Warranty Certificate.
P.S. All other motherboards and VGAs have standard 3-year warranty

I think this is fantastic.
It shows our commitment to the end-user, we rather have a long term relationship with our users, than just offer a quick short-term solution.
It also shows that GIGABYTE is very confident about the product quality.
Besides, this is a FREE extended warranty program for the entire UK!
Brilliant.

It applies only to products purchased in Mainland UK.
I live in N Ireland.
Does this mean that I do NOT qualify for this Extended Warranty even though N Ireland is part of the UK?
I have just purchased a Gigabyte GA P55 UD5 board.
Thanks.
-
My friend, in that case, of course you will be included - but only for N. Ireland, unfortunately we can not cover S. Ireland.
So wellcome on board ;D
-
Many thanks for getting back to me, good to know that NI is included.
However, you might want to change:
It applies only to products purchased in Mainland UK.
to
It applies only to products purchased in UK.
To make it clear that all UK regions of the UK are included...
-
6 years!! Thats crazy :o :o
-
After getting my P55-UD4 I was pleasantly surprised to find this.
The boards been running great and I hope that it will continue to do so - but the extra peace of mind is always appreciated from a company with faith in their products.

Nothing about extended warranty in the reply. Is the assumption that it will arrive in the post ??
Thanks.
Always great products
-
Aww, if only this was for the X58 motherboards too :*(
I am sure it will be reliable enough anyway, no troubles for almost a year *touch wood*
-
I got the same as Landatech.
No hint of anything to do with the extra warranty - still 3 years is decent. The extra year would just be nice.
-
Hi Landatec and MindLESS
This is just standard auto-reply by our RMA system, so don't worry. You will receive the certificates.
-
Just recv and email from Returns@gb-tec.co.uk regarding the extended warranty that I claimed for. "It is now under process and you will informed further" so it looks as though it does all happen via the returns site, just takes some time for them to process it all.
Will post when more activity takes place.
-
Indeed, received a reply late yesterday saying it was being processed.
Thanks if you did anything runn3r.

No problem :)

Hi,
Just wondering how long it takes to get the certificate? I sent an email off on 30/9/09 and got the same automated reply as Landatec but I haven't heard anything since about it being processed.
-
I had an email from John Hung at Gigabyte appologising for the delay and telling me they are sorting out the certificate for it.
I don't have too much of a problem with waiting - we've got 3 years of warranty before the extended warranty has any effect.
As with a lot of things, when something new starts up you can get teething troubles - if you've not had anything in a few days again I'd say post here and I'm fairly sure runn3R or another member of the GBUK team would have a look and get back to you.
-
Just sent off my application for the extended warranty, the 30 day limit was nearly up :P
My UD5 serial number was on the side of the ATX 24 pin power connector, took a while to find as id already installed the motherboard in the case but a torch and mirror helped track it down ;D
-
hi mates
just wondering if you received your certificates finally...
-
I recently purchased a UD5 from Turkey,
Is there any other warranty program that would cover my mainboard?
-
I don't know. You need to contact TR office of Gigabyte
-
Requested extended warranty 4th march and received an e-mail telling me that there was a problem with my e-mail address. I explained what the problem was. 3 (three) weeks and still no word from any one as to what is happening. ???
-
Does this include the P55A-UD6 model?
-
Hi Pastieman69
Yes of course, it is clearly written here:
(...)
GA-P55A-UD6, GA-P55-UD6 - six years
(...)
-
Hi ErnieK
Have you got the certificate finally? As I was informed it has been sent to you end of March.
Sorry for delay.
-
Got my certificate.....
@runn3R - sos mate crazy day with my first question ;)
-
How about the UD7???
-
What about the UD7?
If you are querying the warranty it is three years normally.
-
Sadly my motherboard has just died and the certificate I got was stored in my email client on the PC!
I've been speaking to the warranty department but their responses were much less helpful than I'd hoped.
I did the quick calculation and realised that I'm very close to my 4 year warranty end now, and trying to get the hard drive out and into a working computer is going to be a problem.
I'm wishing now I'd had the forethought to back up the certificate (shame Dropbox and the likes weren't as ubiquitous 4 years ago!) and that I'd ended up getting the UD5 so I'd not be so close to warranty end!
