Title: z170x-ud3 and usb 2 on Windows 7
Post by: dodgyb on November 24, 2015, 01:51:44 pm
I have an MV USB Audio device (Cozoy Astrapi) which works on Windows 10, but not on Windows 7. The device only works on USB 2.0 ports.

I have a Logitech Unifying Receiver connected to a USB 2.0 port which works OK on both OS's.

On a clean install of Win7 the first time I attached the device software was updated and a reboot was required.  On reboot the device is not detected although device manager does show a USB Composite Device as not connected if I run the following:

set DEVMGR_SHOW_DETAILS=1

set DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES=1

start devmgmt.msc

Does anyone have any ideas how to get this device working?

Thanks

The Astrapi only states compatibility with iOS as far as I can tell.  Am I wrong?

This is not a problem with your Z170x.  I'd try connecting to USB2 only.

The Aegis states mobile and PC compatibility.

You may want to talk to them about expanded support or compatibility.

Thanks for the speedy feedback Shadow,

The Astrapi is plug n play on IOS, Android and Windows and the USB 2 port is being used.

As it works OK on Win 10 my guess is the problem lies with the USB drivers Gigabyte supply for Win 7.  What do you think?

BTW device manager is not showing any USB 2 controllers or hubs, just 3.0 and 3.1
