my cpu is amd phenom2 810 x4 , 2 x 2gb ocz fatality edt 1333mhz, asus engts250 , have tried new bios , driver updates , hard drive disk check, checked all temps on cpu and graphics all fine, have done mem test86 latest test 4 passes and have taken graphics card out and re seated and have tried my card in freinds comp and is fine, i have cranked all my fans up to full on antec 900 case to hurricane and the power seems fine, could it be the board i cant find number for gigabyte uk, any suggestions welcome or if any one can pass this on to gigabyte or give me there number as ive paid out for games i can not play , which i was playing up til this happened and also i have re istalled windows as last resort to with nothing in but graphics card in, still no good, please help im having bf3 withdrawal syptoms

Hi there,
You say that you have updated the BIOS are you now running the F8 version?
Are you actually monitoring the temperatures of your system using HW Monitor of another program? If yes, what are they?
What PSU are you using?
Does the problem only happen with BF3?

i was on f8 went back to f4 and finnally f6 , i used the easy tune software and the graphics i used the smart doctor and have checked also in bios, ps the board is ga-ma790xt ud4p sorry

no it even does it on chess titans in windows games, also i have tried anothe card in and its that old cannot try on bf3 but it does still crash on chess game, all the card games work like solitaire,

im using win power 700w i did the online calc and it says i need 359w ive got 2x hdd , 1 x dvd rom , 1 graphics , theres 4x 90mm fans and one big giant fan on top , my cpu has xigmatec flower type like the zalman flower,

OK first thing I would suggest is you go back to the F8 BIOS and that you use QFlash to run the update. Remember to disable the "Keep DMI Data" Option on the QFlash homescreen BEFORE you actually flash the BIOS as this can help.
When you have updated the BIOS restart the PC and go into BIOS and load Optimised Defaults save and exit, restart the PC and go back into BIOS to make any of the basic changes that you would make such as Disable Full Screen Logo and setting teh SATA controllers as appropriate but DO NOT make any changes to the controls or voltages for CPU or RAM.
Once you have done this go back into Windows and do your usual things but keep EasyTune open and monitor the temperature of the CPU. What temperature is being reported? Does it reach 62C or higher when the PC shuts down?

ok will do although have tried the f8 at no changes like ram etc when i updated and then tried with , but will try it again, when i monitored last time the cpu was at around 37deg, and graphics is 42 deg just doing normal stuff

If that is the case then it is probably not a hardware issue but a software one as those temps are pretty much what I would be expecting.
Instead of using EasyTune download HW Monitor from here: http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html don't download the PRO as you have to pay for that but use the 1.18 setup. When you have reflashed the BIOS open HW Monitor and keep an eye on what temps this is reporting, especially the TMPIN temps.

tmpin temps 42deg, cpu core 26deg min,max 27 , cpu 34 min 36 max, graphics 1.30v, 42 deg, hdd 22 deg, powers 41.00w

the chess game worked and temps stayed same , the bf3 went to 38 cpu , 42 graphics till point off game map was loading then it shut down, damn thought u solved it, on hw monitor

cpu is 1.01v max 1.30v, ddr is 1.60v, 3.3v is 3.23v the +12v is 12.52 and the -12v is 7.68v the vbat is 3.10v

when i turned back on hw montor says cpu min 29 max 39deg and graphics min 41 max 42 deg, is max the last recorded before shut down

update tried chess again made 2 moves and shut down

Try playing your game and, if possible, keep an eye on these temps. What do they read if/when the system crashes?

Well, I have to say that it doesn't seem as if your temperatures are the issue here so we will have to look at other things in your system to try and trace the problem. I know, from your first post, that you are running OCZ RAM can you post a link to your modules so we can check those next?

ocz ddr3 pc3-1066/1333mhz oczf13334gk dual channel 2x 2gb, timings it says is 1.70v 1333mhz cas 9,9,9,20, i spoke to ocz and they said try 1.25-130v on northbridge video cpu

Right, this could be the problem area as, by default, your RAM will be running at 1.5V and you will need to manually set the voltage to 1.7V in BIOS.
You do this under the MIT Section of BIOS so make this change but don't, for the time being, make any other changes in this section. You will need to set the voltage control to Manual and you will probably notice some red flashing type in BIOS giving a warning about overvolting the system, don't worry about this as your RAM is rated at 1.7V

sorry ive already done that when i installed them , and have tried mem test 86 4 passes aswell and tried 1 in and other and in other slots

and i changed it to 1333mhz and put 9,9,9,20 timings too

bloke from ocz got me to try northbridge video voltage too with no joy but that was when the game was crashing before i had shutting down problems

just ran prime 95 stress test of cpu and ram mixed test, the cpu is holding at 53 deg and the graphics is at 43, the voltages have changed as follows:
cpu vcore 1.30v
ddr 1.70v after changing in bios
+3.3v is 3.20
+12v is 12.45
-12v is 10.56v
vbat 3.10v
powers -package 98.80w

is the voltages ok there seems to be a big difference on the -12v readings under load (prime95) went from 7.68 to 10.52 under stress and the power package wattge is 41.00 normal and 98,80 under stress, how come the +12v is always 12. something volts and the -12v is well under

The voltages are pretty much as I would expect them to be.
Have you tried loosening the timings of your RAM a bit? Instead of trying to get it running at 9,9,9,20 try setting it to 9,9,9,24. Does this help?

update that worked for chess game played about 5 games no probs , so i started bf3 and there was a big update so i was downing that and i think it may have finished as i was playing chess game still and the computer shut down i think maybe getting there or maybe the memory is shagged after all and memtest 86 never picked it up or my board dont like it but that is 2 sets if so as this was a different replacement from ocz as 1st set was to intel specific as mine is amd, any thoughts

If you can try different RAM then that is what I would do. Personally I prefer Corsair Vengeance RAM as I have had no problems (famous last words) with these. I always recommend that you try to purchase RAM that runs at the rated speed but at 1.5V as then you should have no major problems.

i havnt got any spare ram but think it sounds a good place to start, is there a possibility it could be the board , also i forgot to say when it shuts down i have to pull the psu cord out for at least 5-10 sec or it wont power up like its dead , and even if you leave it over night when it shuts down you have to still take the cord out and wait before you can power it up in the morn ???
