Title: GA-E350N-USB3 no subwoofer sound
Post by: wolfgr on December 01, 2011, 02:02:14 am
i bought a GA-E350N-USB3  to use as a htpc, yesterday i update bios and download new soundcard driver from gigabytes download site, upgrade bios and driver went fine so now i have dolby home cinema v4 support. The problem is that i have no more sound at subwoofer when i play movies and music. The other speakers work just fine but i cant get sub to work. When i test subwoofer from realtek sound manager it sounds ok.

i connect sub from orange 3.5"outport.

Hi

The first question is it an active sub woofer or passive ?

Have you made sure that your setup is correct in the Sound Manager ?

Try deleting the old drivers and then download again and reinstall the latest ones.

hi,thnx for your anwser,of course its an active subwoofer,my set up is just right,5.1 speakers ,all connections are double/triple checked :) and all speakers checkout fine (including sub) when i test them at realtek sound manager.I just cant take analog signal at sub when i play movies/music/youtube etc...

as for drivers, till now i have tested old gigabyte's cd driver v2.55 ,gigabyte's site new driver v2.65 and realtek's newest  v2.66.The only one that can make the sub to take signal is v2.55 by checking the option "fill speakers" and "bass managment" ,two options that the two new drivers are missing.I use win7 home premium x64.

Have you tried selecting 7.1 instead of 5.1 and see if that helps at all.

I know this sounds stupid but everytime I update the sound drivers I have to unplug each speaker plug
and plug it back in . then I get a popup saying that a connection has been unpluged then ask you wich one then it sets it to the correct input that you
checked off. this goes as well for the subwoofer slso. So just unplug the sub connection and plug it in and follow the popup and you
should be good to go.
