I have a gigabyte Z97X-SLI with bios F10b. 2x8GB, Intel 4790k
Bios settings had been default (load optimized default)
OS is Windows 10 -> Anniversery -> Insider Fast
Across all configs I've been getting this BSOD occasionally, combined with occasional freezes. As best as I can see the PSU, voltages are ok, as is system cooling. (prebuilt novatech system from Aug 2014). I have no additional hw beyond a firewire adapter.
Generally this occurs under load ie opening loads of web pages/thrashing photoshop/lightroom
A memory test runs ok as does a cpu burnup test & intels own processor test
Does anyone have any suggestions? Any bios > f10b?
My current plans include (one at a time)
* demote memory speed to "stability" preset in bios
* cap cpu at 4 Ghz (no turbo)
* .... what else?
suggestions welcome :-)
thanks
Nigel.

Start button..... type winver
Press enter.
What version of windows are you running?
Stable release 10586 or Insider Preview 14393?
If the latter, I'd roll back... you can also run >sfc /scannow from a elevated command prompt to verify integrity of OS protected system files.
Next, Enter BIOS, load set up defaults, press F10 to save. When the system restarts, enter BIOS and manually configure changing only what's needed to boot / run your system conservatively.
If you are OC'ing the memory or CPU at all... Stop
I'm sure you've googled that error. Could be software or hardware related. If rolling back to earlier build, running SFC and the BIOS reset doesn't help, its likely the CPU or MB.
