Title: Unable to install I/O shield
Post by: Ingram on October 19, 2012, 09:25:07 am
I've used ga-z68x-ud3h-b3 (r1.3) for a while now, lovely board. But now after moving stuff from testbench to a case I noticed that the holes on shield and ports on board don't match in terms of their position (they're a bit off, enough that it doesn't fit properly). The labels on shield match the ports on board, so I don't think it's the wrong one.

Is it possible that the I/O shield is a dud? May the same apply to the board? And where can I get a new shield?

Numbers I found on the shield are G0193 in front and A0949 in the back.

Hi

Are you sure that you have the correct shield there that came with the motherboard ? I haven't come across a error of which shield was included with the board before. I suppose that it is possible that the shield was poorly stamped out when it was made. I would suggeat contacting the retailer to see if they can arrange a new one for you.

You haven't put your location on the profile section so I don't know if you are local (UK) or not.
