Title: 8iK1100 and Firewire

I have two 8IK1100 mobos.  On one I have the option to enable or disable firewire in the BIOS.  The second which I use the most, there is no firewire option in the BIOS and Windows doesn't detect my firewire drive.  Can anyone help?

do they both have the same BIOS installed?  Are they using the same firewire connector?  Maybe connector is bad.  Is firewire driver installed (device manager)
