Started to get odd times of booting with no sound and reboot cured but now I have no sound at all.
Windows reports no sound device yet all the drivers are loaded and the hardware device reports everything working ok.
Have removed the realtek High definition driver and reloaded it still no sound
anyone have any idea what to do next?
Mb is Ga x58A-UD3R rev 1.0 with I7/930 Cpu.
Just done a system restore back 2 weeks and its stil the same replaced cables and plugged in direct headphones and stil nothing, everything says its working except its reporting no playback device.
I now suspect its the MB and that is annoying as its not that old New in September 2010 is this outside of warranty now?

Its taken two days and an uninstall of the realtek drivers and a total clean out of the files then a restart in safe mode and an install of original drivers from disc and then it still did not work.
Ran registry clean and still no sound then I ran chkdsk and restarted still no sound found device now loaded but not enabled enabled and it required driver re entered original MB disc and loaded from there and now it works.
I have sound back on.
I also had a Mozilla Firefox update pop up at the end which I let run and then it started to make me think this did start about the time Mozilla 16.0.1 updated last week and now we have Mozilla 16.02 Hmmm Coincidense?
Still I now have sound back and really I do not what or why is this computing?
