Title: G1 sniper M3 rev 1.0 Memory
Post by: Graceman on November 08, 2012, 12:13:36 am
I have become confused about ram memory for this board I would like 16Gb dual channel in two 8gb sticks but they must have cooling fins or heat dissipates on them as water cooling and there will be no fan close by moving air around.

Prices from £80 to £140 for what looks the same. So what should I  look for?
I7/3770 K cpu being fitted no graphics card and no HD all ssd

Found these on Amazon wlil they be ok

Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9B 8GB 1600Mhz CL9 DDR3 Vengeance Memory Module Kit    Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9B 8GB 1600Mhz CL9 DDR3 Vengeance Memory Module Kit

£32 50 seems good price?
or these

Corsair CMZ16GX3M2A1600C10 Vengenace 16GB 1600MHz CL10 DDR3 Memory Two Module Kit    Corsair CMZ16GX3M2A1600C10 Vengenace 16GB 1600MHz CL10 DDR3 Memory Two Module Kit

£58.38 again reasonable?

Decided to take the offer of the 16Gb at £58.38 as it is 1600 Mhz and can be overclocked according to Corsair and at that price it seems to good to miss.

Hi Graceman

All of the modules that you have posted there are 1600 speed. If you are pl;anning to overclock them then heat might be your biggest problem. By default they shouldn't get that warm but of course if you are running them above their stock speed then the coolers will be earning their money. If you do have any problems with the heat you can always watercool the sticks themselves. I am just reviewing some of Alphacool's options for just this event.

All of the Corsair memory modules are good quality and I have used many of them in the past.
