Hello everybody.
Just want to ask you something about my motherboard which is Gigabyte GA EX58 UD5.
So, i use very often my external HDD drive ( USB 2 ) and it takes a lot of time to copy from PC to external HDD or viceversa
I dont think there is a chance for some BIOS update in the future, to get USB 3 on this motherboard.
What do you think about this product ?
http://www.amazon.com/2-Port-SuperSpeed-Express-Controller-Card/dp/B0042U52KC
Would that help to increase my speed when i copy from the ( i will get another external HDD, with USB 3 ) external HDD to PC ?
What do you think ? Please give me some advices about.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
In theory there is no reason why you shouldn't get the speed upgrade as long as you use the card you linked to and a compatible enclosure to connect to it. The USB3.0 card is connecting via the PCIE bus so there is plenty of bandwidth there. Make sure that you have the correct drivers installed otherwise you will be limited speedwise.
A BIOS update wouldn't provide the speed increase anyway as it would also require the hardware to be upgraded too.

I dont know if i can stick the card in the PCIEX1_1
Could i use PCIEX1 card in PCIEX1_4 slot ??

Yes. Any PCIE card can be used in any PCIE slot that is physically large enough for it to fit in. So a PCIE x1 card can be used in a PCIE x1, x4 or x8 or x16 slot. ;)

I want to order this : http://www.amazon.de/LogiLink-PCI-Express-Schnittstellenkarte-f%C3%BCr-Ports/dp/B00339X1PQ
Do you think it's okay ? The driver should be included with the package ?
Thank you
LE : I have an external hard drive compatible with USB 3.0
