Hi

The modules should be automatically setup by the SPD data and motherboard/CPU. If you are just using the standard settings there shouldn't really be a problem if the BIOS is left to Auto. As long as the RAM is compatible with the motherboard it should go without any problems.

Of course it is also possible to enter all the details such as speed, voltage and timings manually but this is usually only done when someone is trying to overclock their memory. To do this you would have to enter the BIOS and physically change the settings of the memory from Auto to whatever was necessary.

GA-990XA-UD3
Specification:
3.Support for DDR3 2000(O.C.)/1866/1600/1333/1066 MHz memory modules

AMD FX-Series FX-4170

Notes on AMD FD4170FRW4KGU
The fastest supported memory is DDR3-1866

You will need to overclock the CPU to achieve DDR3 2000MHz speed and higher. You may also have a better chance of getting that speed to work if you choose to use just two instead of four DRAM modules.
