Hi,
I downloaded and unzip´ed this 80,9 MB file from the european server. However, then I end up with a folder containing several hundreds of files.
There´s one exe-file, but this is for AMD Catalyst graphics driver - However, I use an NVidia card, so this does not make sense.
How is the chipset driver updated?
BR,
Anders

If you run the ATI setup it will install the correct drivers for your system. The graphic drivers shouldn't be installed but, if you are worried, you can do a custom install through catalyst control to double check the drivers that you install.

After a new clean Win7 install,
do you suggest to install the drivers of mobo & vga from
- manufacturer's sites?
- cd which was within device?
- drivers software like DriverMax?
-
Personally I would recommend getting the latest drivers from the Manufacturer's website, this is what I do.

There is also another one option, instal via win updates. What do u think about, is it a good idea?
Sometimes u install latest drivers, but still win updates have something for your device...
-
Win updates are a useful way of getting drivers and I use this method also but, win updates really only works for hardware that is recognised.
-
So, dou suggest me for chipset/vga drivers to use win updates or manufacturer's site?
-
It's really a matter of personal choice. I prefer to use manufacturer's website as usually the drivers are the latest.

Thank you for the explanation. It worked, and I should just have been more patient in the first place, to let the ATI installer proceed with the job.

I have to say that it is a little unsettling when Catalyst Control first goes to install and you get all the AMD graphics info coming up, especially if you are running an NVidia card. You would think that AMD/ATI would make things a little clearer when it comes to driver installation and so avoid unnecessary concerns for the end user.

I have the same board. The AHCI driver (included in chipset driver) makes my hard drive click and slow boot up. When i remove the driver computer is booting fast and no clicking.
