Title: P55a-UD5 floppy?
Post by: David Stodolsky on December 17, 2009, 09:26:10 pm
I am on my 3rd P55 board and can't write drivers to a floppy, with 2 known good drives and 3 known good diskettes. Has anyone got the floppy interface on this board to work?

Cheers

The fix required updating to beta bios F6a: p55aud5.f6a

However, under Win XP there is no choice of diskette density when formatting. I only get 1.44MB, even with a DD diskette and it will reformat it to 1.44MB. (On an older OS/MB, I get a choice of density with the same drive.)
Under properties it shows a pre-formatted DD diskette as 730MB capacity.

Is there a diagnostic for floppy disk drives under XP/DOS or Ubuntu, that will run on this motherboard?
