Title: Which Memory for a GA-EX58-EXTREME (rev. 1.0)
Post by: dbarry722 on November 16, 2012, 10:48:16 am
Hi Folks..

I have an GA-EX58-EXTREME (rev. 1.0) motherboard and I'm looking to upgrade it to its maximum memory (24Gb) but I am not sure which memory to go for as there seems to be so many variations..

The three that I have looked at on my suppliers website are:

1. Crucial 12GB (4GBx3) DDR3 CL9 PC3-12800 240-Pin DIMM NON-ECC Unbuffered Memory Module Kit
2. Crucial 12GB (4GBx3) DDR3 CL9 PC3-12800 240-Pin DIMM NON-ECC Unbuffered Memory Module Kit
3. Crucial 12GB(3x 4GB) DDR3 1600MHz 204-pin Non-ECC Unbuffered DIMM Memory Kit

I copied the last one as is directly from website. It says 204-pin but is actually 240-pin. Think it is a typo on suppliers part

which one should I go for??

My current setup runs Windows 2011 SBS with VMware and a couple of VM's hence why looking to upgrade. I also intend to buy the Corsair H100 so that I can tinker about with overclocking.

any assistance greatly appreciated.

Declan
