As Gigabyte don't seem to recognise my issue as a problem, i've just recorded the problem.
As you can see , the computer is still running ( watch the monitor image ).
But BOTH the mouse and keyboard have 'frozen' and will not function - they simply flash on and off.
The only way to get them back is to unplug them then replug them back into different USB sockets.

I've tried numerous fixes over the past months ;

CMOS reset ( battery out etc. ) - No Fix
Reinstalled Windows - No Fix
Updated mobo drivers - No Fix
Replaced the Ram - No Fix
Flashed to latest F7 bios - No Fix
Yet Gigabyte have not once suggested an RMA and don't seems to recognise this as a problem.

I have a similar problem myself, but instead of flashing on and off the devices plugged into the USB 3.0 slots will freeze for about 2 seconds or so. Not really that big of a deal on my mouse and keyboard but I have a wireless USB dongle that I connect to my router with. It occasionally drops connection on me/kills my downloads.
I am curious about something. OP are you using a wireless card/device at all? I read a whitepaper from a company maybe 3 weeks ago saying that USB 3.0 and the 2.4GHz band interfere with each other.
I have been cruising around these forums looking for a problem similar to mine (I have found a couple) but I have yet to run across a solution to the problem.
Here are my specs if anyone is interested -
Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UP4 TH
Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost)
Corsair 650W PSU
Geforce GTX 660 Ti
CORSAIR Vengeance LP 16GB (2 x 8GB)
Keyboard - Microsoft Sidewinder
Mouse - Razer Mamba

My system has started acting in a similar way, razer diamondback mouse , razer lycosa kb and my seagate terabyte expansion drive all drop connection prompting the disconect sound till it loops that hard and locks the system forcing a reset.Im still running the f8 bios on the ga x79 ud3 board will try a later bios and see.
