Title: Upgrade GA-P35-S3G mobo with USB 3.0 card
Post by: MikeDwyer on November 24, 2012, 12:49:46 pm
Can I upgrade my system that has a GA-P35-S3G motherboard and as standard has USB 2.0 by adding a USB 3.0 card?

I have a free PCIE_1 slot but dont know how too much about PC's so want to make sure it would work before buying a USB 3.0 card.
I want to be able to improve the speed of transferring data to my seagate external drive which can transfer at usb 3.0

Details of my PC system are:
Intel CPU Core 2 Duo 2.53Ghz
Motherboard GA-P35-S3G(rev. 1.0) with F2 bios
Asus graphics card HD 4850
Memory Corsair 2 x 1 GB DDRII
Power Supply is 550 W
Running Windows XP SP3   :-[

Thanks

Hi there,

I can't say for certain as I don't have your motherboard but there is no reason that I can think of that adding a PCIex1 USB3.0 won't work.
