Title: I'm beginning a new build with the GA-970A-D3. Have you any good advice for me?

Well, I suppose the subject in my title says it all:

I'm beginning a new build with the GA-970A-D3.  Have you any good advice for me before I assemble this new system??

Just wondering if anyone here has used this specific MB, and if yes, have you any good advice before I assemble this new system...

Here's my proposed new build:

AMD 1055T
GA-970A-D3 Motherboard
Corsair CX 600 PSU or Corsair TX 750 [which do you recommend and why]?
OCZ DDR3 RAM 1600 8GB
ASUS DVD Burner
R7770 or GTX 650 [which do you recommend and why]?
Patriot Pyro SE 120GB SSD SATA III

Thank you,

Soar

The psu is either or whichever suits you. The 750 is better if you plan on ever upgrading to crossfire and need a stronger 12v rail but the builder series i actually have one built and ready to go using the 500 builder series and it works great with the 3850 i put in it and since it will never use crossfire it was all i needed.

My thought is i bought the 500 for about 45. after rebate and it wasnt 2 months later i could of bought the 600 for the same price after rebate. If you have the time keep your eyes open for the rebates.

AT,

Thanks for the reply!

Well, I already have both power supplies [Corsair CX 600 PSU and Corsair TX 750].  I am trying to decide which one to use.

I think I will take your good advice and use the Corsair CX 600 because the rig should not need anything more than that.

I did find a good deal on both these PSU's over the last few months:

Corsair CX 600 - $29 AMIR

Corsair TX 750 - $39 AMIR

Great deals when they were on sale!

Thanks again for some excellent input!

Gosh, no one here at this forum that is using the Gigabyte GA-970A-D3...that is not a good sign!

Well, the good news is that there are a lot of good reviews at New Egg:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128521&Tpk=Gigabyte%20GA-970A-D3

Amazon's reviews were even better!

Is there anyone here at Gigabyte Forums that has this specific mobo and would like to comment on it?

You are most welcome just wish i could be more help on the other.  Will upload info you are looking for so u know what time it is tomorrow night.

As for the card they are really close spec wise but since you are using amd chip id go with the 7770 a little slower clock on ram but only 400mghtz off and it has 640 stream processor and i have always found amd video cards work better with amd processor before they ever came out with the code name dragon and so forth i was already building them that way either or you wont suffer. Both are 128 bit and that is what matters most i only use at the least 256 bit cards .
