Title: 990fxa ud5, problems loading my o/s

right i have build my own computer, using a 990fxa ud5 motherboard, geforce 560 gtx graphics card, phenom ii x4 cpu and a 250 gb hhd, i have assembled it and want to boot my o/s on the system but when i try to it is stuck at the loading operating system page, and doesnt move? i have tired with a copy of windows 7 and 8 and last night i used xp.  With xp i managed to get to the bit where it asks if you want to install xp but it has disconnected my keyboard and mouse so i couoldnt pick on

please can you help me sort this out :/

Is your keyboard and mouse both usb or are you using the keyboard or mouse in the ps2.  Generally when this happens try using a ps2 keyboard and a usb mouse see if that helps you out. Most motherboard halt on keyboard error and if you are not using a ps2 keyboard that could do it.
