Does anyone know compatible satacontrollers for the GA-Z77X-D3H (rev. 1.0) ?
Something like a 2 port PCIEx1 card , speed is not really important , and raid is not needed .
I have tried a few cheap ones (PCIEx1), but when they are installed the board won't boot .
No beep , no errors (no video either) .
I think I have tried all relevant bios settings, but it just won't work with a addon satacontroller installed .
Whenever I buy a bigger hd, I use the old ones on cheap satacontroller(pci/pcie) for storage .
(Think sd tv series, ebooks etc.)
I have been searching for while , but the only relevant info I can find is that satacontrollers that have a bios (like all of them) won't work .
My hardware :
GA-Z77X-D3H (rev. 1.0)
I5-3570K
8800GTS
X-Fi soundcard (pci)
Cheap gigabit network card (pcie), onboard lan only works for ~90 secs
Bios F17f
Lots of hd's
16GB ram
I have a non UEFI Windows 7 installation , would it help to do a reinstall (the only thing I haven't tried) with UEFI ?
Except for the lan port , and not being able to add a satacontroller , the board is rock solid for days now .
Any insight would be appreciated .
(Edit: Mods, excuse me, just noticed the Z77 Motherboards child forum ...)

Update :
I posted a ticket on Gigabyte's technical support , surely adding a sata/raid controller should be possible on a Z77X-D3H (?)
BTW, my powersupply is a Corsair HX750 .

So what happened with this?

They told me to rma it .
I have found a PCI-e satacontroller card that works :
"asmedia 106x sata controller" , a dumb 2 port sata controller , but it is what I needed .
But it only works on cold boots .
And I added a pci-e gigabit network card to replace the nonworking lan port .
This pc has been running 24/7 for weeks now (under heavy load) , so I'm keeping it , and looking for a better board in the meantime ..
