GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 (1.3), Win 8x64. I installed the most recent versions of the utilities and drivers and udated the BIOS to UEFI. Along the way, Secunia PSI gave an alert that Apache (2.2.15) needed updating to 2.2.23. A file search tells me that's part of the Marvell Storage Utility package. Do I really need it, let alone need Apache, which seems to be network software? This is just a single user cable internet set up.
At the Apache site, I downloaded and unpacked the Unix source of Apache, not seeing a Windows verion. http://httpd.apache.org/download.cgi#apache22. The problem is that I can't figure out what to do with it. The download page talks about getting the right version from the original source, while the Apache readme notes say INSTALL is what to use. But that's a system file and I don't see any executables. So I'm writing to ask some guidance on this. For what purpose would I need MSU and, if so, what do I do with the unpacked Apache , or is there somewhere else to look? Thanks,

Secunia PSI has nothing to do with Gigabyte as far as I know. That's a security software - it might be better to take that question to them directly: http://secunia.com/

You sound completely unfamiliar with Secunia PSI does, as well as the Marvell chipset. Gigabyte is now distributing Marvell Storage Utility as a driver for this board, presumably related to the fact that this Z68x board uses a Marvell chip for two SATA 6 gb/s ports (look up my board if you want to check). That's why I've posted here and on the TweakTown Gigabyte forum (where they didn't know). One piece of what MSU installs is the Apache HTTP Server Project application. I had no idea about that until Secunia PSI, true to its nature, gave a security alert, which means the program has been updated due to security issues and it would be a good idea for users to do so. Since I'm not using a server, that led to a more basic question: what is Marvell Storage Utility and why might I need it - or not? And, assuming for the sake of discussion that I do, how does one update Apache, given what can be seen from the link?

Looking around some more, I think the surest answer is that it's designed for RAID arrays using the Marvell chip on the board. There also seems to be some use with virtual drives. Since I don't use RAID, not needed.
