Title: ga-z68ap-d3 nothing is shown
Post by: nemesis on December 14, 2012, 04:25:53 am
Hello, I've bought this mb today and i cant even reach the BIOS screen, nothing is shown in my monitor.. I tried all, all power supply wires is connected in the right socket... but no image in my monitor. My serial number starts SN1206... could be i have a defective motherboard? I tried to connect my display from ATI GPU, NVIDIA and HDMI onboard but none.

Specifications:
- i7-3770
- 2x G.SKILL 4GB F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL (tried only 1 module and 1x ExceleRAM 2GB E30100A)
- PowerSupply 500W
- Default Intel fan and master cooler tried also

Could be caused by incompatible RAM modules or  a poor 500W(i think 500W is enough without a graphic card, isnt it?)? Should i send back my mb?

Thank you and sorry for my bad english..

the bios may need updating for the cpu stepping.  the bios version will be on a sticker on the board, usually on a pci slot. compare that against the boards cpu compatibility list on the gigabyte site

Had the same problem with the kid's new build over xmas which he spec'd using the GA-Z68AP-D3 and i5-3570K. BIOS vers nowhere to be found on the mb but using the s/n it was built week 6 2012. From the gigabyte site the rev 2.0 BIOS version for that time was FB which doesn't support the Ivy Bridge processor -  decided to go with the Asus P8Z77-V LX instead.
