Title: GA-Z77N-WIFI BIOS bugs
Post by: mattmtl on December 23, 2012, 10:10:36 pm
Hello,

I just wanted to report the following bugs in the GA-Z77N-WIFI :

1/Bios F3d : can't come back from sleep with Windows 8 (works with Bios F2), black screen with GTX 660Ti forces reboot.

2/Bios F2 and F3d : no Wake On LAN feature, even if the manual talks about it...

3/Bios F2 and F3d: no overclocking/underclocking features. This is the main idea behind Z77 vs H77, I paid 20$ extra vs H77 to get it and we have no voltage options in the Bios.

About Wake On LAN on mini itx motherboard :

The mini itx standard is very interesting for servers, and HTPC setups so WOL is a must have on GA-Z77N-WIFI

About overclocking/underclocking :

It is true that mini itx is not the best format for overclocking due to the size restrictions, but underclocking is very useful for HTPC, mini servers...

Yes, ITX is an ideal candidate for WoL, otherwise we are back in 90's (of last century)

I can confirm that GA-Z77N-WiFi + GV-N660TOC-3GB is a no no with F3d BIOS. Black screnn although the Win7 will boot as I hear the start up sound ...
