Built a new system:
GA-Z68X-UD3P-B3 Rev1.0
Intel i5-3570K
Arctic Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2
EZCOOL PS-900 (700W)
Corsair XMS3 2 x 4 GB (CMX8GX3M2A1600C9)
Gigabyte GV-N520OC-1Gl
SSD – OCZ VERTEX4 – 128GB
SEAGATE BARRACUDA 2TB
SAMSUNG Lightscribe Blu-ray
Unfortunately on initial switch on machine started running then switched off. Then into boot cycle. No audio beeps. Having left in self boot cycle for a while power supply stays on. No video out, no beeps – only fans (case & CPU) and PS running.
Removed board from case to eliminate short circuit. Attempted switch on – exactly the same. Removed everything except CPU and RAM. Same again.
Tried with one stick of RAM – each in turn – same.
Removed CPU and checked socket pins – all seem OK - but I’m no expert! Replaced CPU and tried again still the same. Carried out CMOS reset – same.
Is my MOBO caput?
Any assistance greatly appreciated.

Hi there,
could be a problem with the CPU not being recognised, especially if the board was shipped with BIOS version earlier than F8 which is needed for your 3570k processor. http://www.gigabyte.com/support-downloads/cpu-support-popup.aspx?pid=3850
Do you have access to another CPU that is supported by earlier BIOS version?

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately not. The only other CPU I have is a LGA1156.

Update
I contacted gigabyte as, after checking their compatibility list, the RAM I have is not on their list. Their reply "In theory the board does support 1600MHz memory. However we dont have this memory to verify the compatibility."
Anybody using this RAM on this MOBO?

Forgot to mention. All the phase LEDs (CPU loading) are lit.
