Title: Z77X-D3H and freezes with expansion cards
Post by: AleR on January 11, 2013, 06:12:50 am
Video card installed to PCIEX16.
When PCI-E x1 Sound card installed to PCIEX4  it cause random freezes in games.

Tried to reinstall Windows 7 and update bios to F16 and F17f, but it didn't help.

Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H - rev 1.0 - bios F16/F17f
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 650 Ti
Asus Xonar (Also try with Creative X-Fi) PCI-E x1 Sound card

On same day, when F17h firmware was uploaded, i return this motherboard and bought another (not same model) -

CPU is Ivy bridge (3570k).

There are no x8 slot - there 2 x16 slots and they work as x8+x8 when 2 cards installed because there only 16 pcie lines in cpu.
If you install sound card in second PCIEx16 - no freeze
PCIEx1 and PCIEx4 are same z77 line. When sound card in PCIEx1_1/1_3 - works fine, but to close to video card - bad cooling.
