Title: GA-X79-UP4: Half of RAM Capacity Detected
Post by: etavares on January 29, 2013, 07:18:59 pm
Hi,

I'm using CORSAIR Dominator Platinum  DDR3 2133 RAM (CMD16GX3M4A2133C9)  I have 4x4GB sticks.

I've tried using XMP Profile 1 and Optimized Defaults, but I consistently get 8GB reporting in BIOS when I have 16GB of RAM in the MOBO.

I did some diagnostic testing:

This also occurred with G.SKILL RipjawZ 2133 RAM...4x4GB of 2133.  Same issue.  I did have to adjust the DRAM voltage to 1.65V for that test.

My BIOS version is F2.

Any ideas?

Try and update the bios and I'll do some testing on my board I'm running F3t. I do have some 8gb sticks. I have been running just 8 4gb sticks.

I had one bent CPU pin. Fixing it resolved the issue.
