Title: new system, no sound.

Hello,

GA-965G-DS4 (rev. 3.3)

OS is - XPhome32

i've downloaded the sound drivers and installed them but still dont have any sound. i open up the control panel and sounds but its disabled, my computer isnt picking up any sound devices.

what should i do?

Open bios and check that HD sound is enabled. Open Windows Device manager and check the status of sound controller.

i can't seem to get into bios, managed to open it once and then quicker than i could blink, it kept flickering up a messagebox (uninstalling / installing)

got new windows update that solved the two hardware conflicts i seemed to have. one with vga, the other with the sound hardware defice. still didnt fix.

in device manager, the sound device is enabled and windows is set to use all the features.

but still no sound. windows achnoledges that the sound device is there, says its working properly. but in Start > Control Panel > Sounds and Audio; it just says "No Audio Device".

any ideas ?
