Title: x58 Usb3 Rev 1
Post by: Jenson on February 07, 2013, 12:25:54 pm
Hi people

I have been using a x58 usb 3 rev 1 for couple of years now with no problems, I decided to get some upgrades, so I purchased a SSD 120gb and some ram etc, however I cannot get windows to write to the ssd, it is showing on the screen when it first boot's up, but not when I go into the bios, I have set it to AHCI, i have tried just having the ssd plugged in, but when windows come to the choice of drive, nothing is shown, anyone else had similar problem with this?

Many thanks

Switch it back to IDE I have same board and it does not like to run AHCI it just cycles through boot process over & over again so I use IDE.
I have tried several configurations and now have Bios F8a but it still does not want to use AHCI

I do not see why not its still a Sata drive type isn't it?
Aalso be aware that this board has faulty Gstat6 Sata drive software from Marvell on ports 6&7 its a well documented issue here in teh forum. sotry another sats connection and disable the Gstat6/7 in Bios.
I currently have F8a Bios running on my Ga X68a Ud3r board.
