Hello,
First I introduce myself describing my problem,
I have been trying to find the motherboard at the bottom for a month because I want to upgrade my pc. After contacting all European importers of GIGABYTE and also gigabyte Italy, they told me that the revision 3.0 is in stock! At this point, I think, perfect! I bought :
- CPU AMD FX 8350
- 32 GB ram patriot Viper 3 PC3 12800 CL9 Black Mamba edition
- PSU-Be quiet dark power pro 10 750w
- Antec Kuhler 920
- case enermax fulmo
- graphics card hd 7850 2gb OC edition
- SSD 64gb Sandisk sata 6 Gb/s
- Hitachi deskstar 2tb sata 6 Gb/s
I state that my hardware vendor is a direct importer from gigabyte TW. At this point, I would expressly ask to order GA-990FXA-UD5 Rev. 3.0 .
My supplier told me that he will add my motherboard to the next gigabytes order, assuring me that there won't be any problems.
On 02-14-2013 my supplier received his order from gigabyte, and inside there was also my motherboard.
I say, well, I'm been waiting for four weeks for this motherboard. ;D
BUT ...
Fifteen minutes later I get a call from my supplier who says: I'm very sorry, I have recieved the motherboard, but that revision is 1.1. >:(
Why ... Why??
Is it impossible do to have the motherboard in this revision?
Thanks for any help

I doubt this forum can help you with such a matter. It s all about the retailer.
Are you sure revision 1.1 is bad ?! :)
It s a high end motherboard.
Get the motherboard from some other supplier maybe you get the revision 3.0.

I don't think the revision 1.1 is bad, but in this revision, the UEFI bios doesn't work.
I haven't found the rev.3.0 in any european retailer :'(

On the other versions there is something called UEFI Hybrid BIOS with normal BIOS interface.
Maybe you can get a different board with UEFI from the 990 series ,the UD3 versions for example.

Hey there everybody, just wanted to add to the discussion before it gets necro.
OP started thread on mid February stating there's an unpleasant shortage of the REV 3.0 of the GA-990FXA-UD5 model across Italy and Europe in general...well it's now June, and I also cannot find one single REV 3.0 of the Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5, and I haven't extensively checked the UD3, but from a quick look, situation looks the same on that front too.
So I checked throughout amazon.it, amazon.de, amazon.fr and amazon.co.uk none had the REV 3.0. I tried Google Shopping and an italian eshop aggregator (trovaprezzi.it)... nada. As far as I'm concerned IF Gigabyte actually has these rev 3's out there in Europe, they're playing the "I'm not puting on sale this new model until I've sold the old ones" game ...which is a shame cause most of the clients that have the bucks and interests for this kinda niche market...usually don't like these kinda BS games, not one bit. :-\
Sorry if I came of a bit harsh, no mean to disrespect anyone around here, but someone had to address the elephant in the room.

as above - if it's just a UD5v3 shortage why not going for the UD3/7 v3 board?

v3 on UD3 is also missing and UD7 is kinda out of my budget, not to mention between an "old" UD7 at 170€ circa, and a SABERTOOTH 990FX R2.0 (late 2012) at 150€ circa (amazon prices) I think anyone would go for the newer Sabertooth, hands down...so if I may, question would be "why bother with Gigabyte, when the competition has better product availability and product diversity at slightly lower prices?" ???
