Title: RAID tools? GA-78LMT-S2 + AMD Phenom II X6 + RAID 1 + WD BLACK 1TB
Post by: rosiev on April 05, 2013, 08:22:31 pm
I replaced motherboard to 78LMT-S2, memory (16GB) and 2 new HDs (configured as RAID 1), install of OS (Windows Server 2008 R2) everything was working perfect.

To test RAID 1, I unplugged one of the hard drives and turn on the system. Windows started perfect.
Plugged hard drive again and now I am getting RAID 1 is status "Critical". One of the disks is not recognized as part of the array.

What RAID tools can I use to rebuild the array without loosing data? I tried to install Intel RAID web console, but it doesn't recognized the RAID card.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

According to Gigabyte's site that motherboard doesn't have an Intel ICH* controller on it so the Intel Matrix Storage Console thing wouldn't work (I use that on my gaming box). If you're using the onboard fakeraid stuff according to the manual you can catch it on boot by pressing Control+F. I imagine you can readd the drive in there. Otherwise in Windows you might need to use the AMD RAIDXpert Utility (http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/raid_windows.aspx).
