Title: How to control fans on 7850 OC 2GB?
Post by: Paladine on April 08, 2013, 05:28:08 pm
Anyone know a way to control the fans on the 7850 OC 2GB?  I am seeing throttling at 60C+ on the card but the fans never reach full speed.  Seems the card steps the fans up to 80% when it hits 60C but then down again once it drops to 59C.  I would like the fans to hit 100% when temps reach 55C to ensure I never hit the 60C throttle threshold but even though I have set the fans to 100% Manual in CCC and OC Guru, I can't seem to get them to hit 100% under any circumstances.

You need an program for that, get MSI afterburner and use the fan control tab.
You can tweak the fan curve or manually set a particular fan speed.

Main interface should look like this:

Go to SETTINGS -> FAN tab and you'll see a graph like this below:

there are points in the graph that you can edit and drag around. Simply pull it to higher fan speeds relative to the temperatures.
NOTE: Do not exit or close the program, just minimize it.. it will hide itself in the taskbar  :)
