Hi all,
Just updated my GA-EX58-UD5 with Core i7 950 to BIOS F9M.
I have CPU Clock set to 23
BCLK Frequency set to 144
Turbo Boost is set to enabled
This should = CPU @ 3.31GHz (turbo should be 24x144 = 3.45Ghz)
When inside BIOS settings it reports 23x144 for 3.31Ghz though upon boot it reports 24 x 143 @ 3.45GHz
Using CPUZ it reports that the CPU Clock ratio varies between 12 & 24 depending on load though never ever sits on 23x. It seems as though it is operating at turbo boost clock ratio (24x) as the norm.
When I had BIOS F7 @ same settings
Upon boot it would report 23 x 144 @ 3.31Hgz
When using CPUZ to monitor it would vary between 12 & 23, & only jump to 24x upon load (I imagine what turbo is supposed to do)
I did all the correct stuff when loading the new BIOS (e.g., load fail safe defaults etc). It's not causing any stability issues but just wondering if anyone else is seeing same thing with F9 BIOS
Thanks
Mick

Hey again,
Just noticed if I set CPU Clock to 21x or 22x the setting sticks though 23x = 24x - weird!
Also notice that CPUZ was reporting:
Name: Core I7 940
Specs: Core I7 950
and
CoreTemp was reporting the CPU as a Core i7 940
Just flashed back to F7 again and all is normal again. Reported as I7 950, 23x sticks, & goes to 24x under load.
Who knows?
