Just a quick easy to answer question.

Is it possible to run a rev1.0 bios on the newer rev3.0 board?

Not normally ,as the code is made for older version 1.0  boards by AWARD and for the newer UEFI by AMI (rarely used in the past by Gigabyte)

They can be cross-flashed but you need advanced tools.
Also you don t know if they are completely identical hardware wise.
