Anyone out there have experience using their EX58 UD5 Rev1 computer as a Win8 media center? I am (among other uses).
Yesterday I tried to put my PC to sleep, then allow my XBOX360 media center to wake the PC. I :
- ensured that I have Windows set to allow the NICs to wake up the computer
put computer to sleep
turn xbox on, enter media center mode
Computer wakes up
xbox reports it cannot connect
So...the wake on lan is apparently working, but then it doesn't have connectivity? Not sure where to go next. Ideas?

Bios up to date?

Hi bruderbell,
Have
According to the manual of your motherboard, have you made changes to the BIOS for
Wake on Lan?
And see also parameters concerning energy saving.
Control Panel -> Power Options -> Change plan settings (for the selected plan) -> Change advanced power settings -> Sleep -> Allow Wake Timers ->
- BIOS level, pme event wake up is to Enable,
- Level Windows in the properties of the NIC,
in "Power Management"
3 boxes are checked, and
in "Advanced", "wake on magic packet" is activated, ¸ ¸
as "Wake on pattern match".
Finally, "wol / off speed network" is set su "10Mbps first".
