Have changed headsets, psu, but still have problems, it's like the sound of
a bad online video when recording is bad, you know distorted.
I play sim racing games, when i rev hard or hit a curb(new sound effect)
etc, thats when i get it, also on mumble. >:(

Hi esox71,
Your model motherboard has several Revisions.
First, how do I distinguish between the different revisions of the same model?
http://www.gigabyte.fr/support-downloads/faq-page.aspx?fid=864
Please provide the exact Revision. Give us the information about it ...
WARNING: Probably your motherboard has a VIA circuit.
You can check in manual if it is the VIA VT1708S codec
Check on Layout page, the circuit...
VIA Drivers and Support Packages
http://www.via.com.tw/en/support/drivers.jsp
Otherwise use this link:
http://www.via.com.tw/en/support/drivers.jsp
Uninstall your last Audio drivers.
and reboot...
After, install new drivers...
Sometimes it happens that the headphones may be damaged.
Or even as new, they can produce sounds inappropriate.

Also have tried three different new headsets
currently on corsair 1500, tried sennheiser pc320 and steel series headset.
it's like it's over amplified?? distorted.

when i play an album online it's sounds perfect, but playing games
and online chat it's awful.

Hi esox71,
I check with in your manuel:
mb_manual_ga-g41m-combo_v2.0_e.pdf
http://download.gigabyte.us/FileList/Manual/mb_manual_ga-g41m-combo_v2.0_e.pdf
Do not install the VIA VT1708S codec
you have a circuit Realtek. See Page 8.
Realtek ALC887 codec
go to web link:
Download 57 drivers for ALC887
http://www.realtek.cz/realtek-download.php?realtek=ALC887&system=5
Uninstall your last Audio drivers.
and reboot...
After, install new drivers...

Where are you plugging the headset into? My son in law has a problem with the headset plugged into the front.
If he plugs them in the back everything is fine. Plus his headset is a Tt eSPORTS SHOCK ONE Diamond Black DTS 5.1 Gaming Headset HT-SHO001EC.
What we did was buy a Y connection so the headset and speakers are connected at the same time.

Good idea about Y connection. You can connect two pair of speaker. ! I have it.
But if you buy speakers with a jack for the microphone and one for headphones, it's even better.
Normally there is also a button to the ''3D Surround'' and another for the ''treble-bass''.
And of course a button to the ''volume''.
Concerning the microphone and headphones jack on the front of the case...
Sometimes the type of material (just a small part or piece.) that lies between the back and front of the case is made very small part of poor quality in the shield. Often it is the wiring. Between the multiple plug ''F_Panel'' and the jack on the front of the case.
