Title: GA-X79-UD3: Difficult to boot!
Post by: Systematic on July 04, 2013, 01:46:11 am
So, a while ago I've built a system with a GA-X79-UD3 and 2 sticks of G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8gb. For about as long as I've had the build (since november), it's been really dificult to start the computer up. It would take about 5 hard restarts to get it going. Most of the time the fans would stay on, but nothing would happen, sometimes I get 3 short beeps or 1 long and 3 short beeps. The beeps indicate that there's a memory issue. However, I did run Memtest and the results were fine.

Could it possibly be that slight voltage difference in between the motherboard and the Memory, or some other incompatibility issue?

Did you try the memory sticks on  different memory slots or one stick at a time  and see if the issue still persists?
