I cannot get the uefi bios to switch into hi res mode. When I try, it just say hi res is not supported????

My monitor is LG 27EA53VQ 27" LED LCD IPS HDMI Monitor

Hmmmmm just a stab in the dark, have you disabled the discreet GPU's and just tried off the VGA from the CPU? That is something I would try just to see if it is not a issue running off the PCI-E lanes.
