iBuypower system with GA-970A-UD3
Just got a Crucial CT256M4SSD2 M4 2.5 Inch Solid State Drive - 256GB, SATAIII 6Gb/s and it does not even show up in the BIOS that I can tell
My other drives will only boot if the BIOS is set to RAID?
Any suggestions would be appreciated thanks

Can you plug in the SSD and boot into windows on other drive then go to disk management? You would right click my computer and go to manage then go to disk management and if you see it there initlize it then format it. If you are not seeing it in bios try using a windows xp machine and see if it shows then.
When i put mine in it didnt show in bios or disk management, I rescanned disk and then it showed and i did what i said above and it went good from there.

When set to AHCI, BIOS in my 870 does not recognize SSDs at the beginning in Standard settings only under Disk Priority, check for it there. If BIOS does not recognize it, it is surely not going to be recognized by windows. Also check cables and that it is plugged in SATA3 port 0. You can also check which BIOS version you have.
