Title: GA-K8N Ultra9 Corrupt Bios
Post by: stephennickell on September 16, 2013, 02:49:39 pm
Hi,
I was having a problem installing a usb 3 card, so I attempted to update the BIOS to the latest version (was f8 new version is F9d). the bios update failed half way through (with the usb 3 card not installed - I don't know why the update failed).
Anyway, now the PC starts the boot process (sees all the drives) but wont start the OS, or allow you to enter the BIOS setup - just get a cursor. I have tried using the backup BIOS (ctrl + f12) - nothing. It won't boot from floppy/cd/usb so I can't run the bios flashing utility. I did backup the bios before I started, but if I can not get the sytem to boot from some form of media how to I reinstall the original bios?
thanks

In all you will have shipping to and from and about 20. USD for a new bios chip if that is what it takes.
