Title: Hard disk S.M.A.R.T functionality in AHCI mode on Gigabyte Z87 HD3 motherboard
Post by: haraesh on September 27, 2013, 12:43:04 pm
I use HWMonitor to check system temps and I dont see the harddisk temps on it. I tried using Western Digital data lifeguard diagnostic utility and it says S.M.A.R.T status fail on both my WD caviar blue 500gb and Hitachi 250gb hard disk. Previously I used a EVGA H55V motherboard and I didn't have any such problem like this on AHCI mode. I don't see any S.M.A.R.T options for the harddisk in the UEFI bios which is updated to F6 in my current Gigabyte motherboard.

Has S.M.A.R.T stopped working or are both my hard disks going to fail? Is this how it works on the Z87 Motherboard?
