Title: Gigabyte GA-Z68AP-D3 r2 bios UA9, 2x HD 6870 crossfire setup problem
Post by: Spede on October 12, 2013, 10:39:57 am
Hello,

I have a problem with setting up the crossfire on this board. PC with clean Win 7 pro x64 install will detect only  card on 1st pcie x16 slot when both cards are installed.
I have tested latest Catalyst 13.9 and 13.11 Beta drivers. There is no enable crossfire option because the 2nd card is not detected.

I have already tested following things:

- Both (identical) HD 6870 cards are working fine indiviually when only 1 card is installed
- Both pcie x16 slots are working
- Psu is fine (700W) enough ampers

Just asking did you put on the crossfire adapter between both cards.

I know you only need one adapter, but for the hell of it try two of them.

No help with 2nd crossfire bridge.
I am quite sure this problem is mobo bios related. I have tested both available  uefi bios versions.

The only other problem is it might be the bios that you are using. These older board were not really made to run the UEFI bios.

In the bios how do you have the bios setup to run the video cards. UEFI or Legacy. I might be wrong, but 6800 series don't support UEFI

Plus what is the PSU and how many amps?
