Title: G1 Sniper 5 LGA 1366 Won't Boot
Post by: moazam on October 14, 2013, 02:13:07 pm
I replaced casing and now motherboard won't boot! Only two leds flash once under the memory slot. Top led is yellow and bottom is green. According to manual I think these leds are northbirdge. I have double checked CPU, power supply, memory and graphic card installation. Everything seems fine to me. I have intel 980x processor, corsair XMS3 DDR3 12 GB RAM, 550W PSU.

Only help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

If I understand this right. What you are saying is all you did change the computer case right.

If so make sure you don't a standoff in the wrong place under the board.

Make sure you have the power and reset cable from the front panel on the right pins.

If they are right than try and short out the two power pins on the board. You could have bad power switch.

Yes, you are right but now I took out the motherboard from the case. I checked processor, cleaned it with arctic clean solution and applied thermal paste. The mobo is on my desk now, I still see yellow and green light flashing (just once) when I turn on the power and when I turn off the power I hear a weak sound kind of bird. Probably that light refers to NB_PHASE_LED or DDR LED. I have installed all of my three RAMs one by one but none solved issue.

It almost sounds like the board lockup. Why I don't know but try this.

Disconnect the PSU and pull the battery clear the cmos for a couple of hours.

Then try it again to see if that will fix it. I not saying this work but something to try.

Thanks, I already cleared CMOS and took the battery out too! But, I left the mobo off for 10-15 mins. I will try this again.
