Guys,

I'd like to update the processor in my PC.  It has a 990FXA-UD3 MB with a AMD FX-4100.  I have looked around and see there are lots of choices.  Very confusing to me.

I use my PC mostly for games.  Particularly Microsoft Flight Simulator which is a resource hog.  Frame rates get very low with this set up.  I have a good video card (GTX650Ti) but frame rates are too low.

I need a recommendation.  What's the best processor I can get that will work with this MOBO?

There is a CPU support list, on the Gigabyte site, for your mobo!
The 4350/8350 are the fastest you can use.

Low frame rates can be the result of little memory or a slow HDD too
