I have recently installed a new OC'd GTX780 GPU. This involved me changing the GPU slot to Legacy via a context menu on the 3D image. The GPU is now working OK but I am no longer able to enter the BIOS as neither the 3D image or the menus appear. All I get is a black band across the top of a blue screen with the words "GIGABYTE - UEFI DualBIOS" on the black band.
Help please. Thanks and cheers,
Mac

what's your bios version? f13w?

G'day to you,
I have opened @BIOS and the only thing I can find is X79-UD5 F12.
Is that what you wanted? If not please detail how I find the current BIOS as I am not able to enter the BIOS to get further information.
Thank you,
Mac

Upgrading to F13W was a very, very BAD suggestion. The computer will not now boot to Windows 7 and I must change to GPU GTX780 back to and old model GPU in order access the BIOS and correct the fault.
I have now discovered that I can not roll back the BIOS to F12. I have the file saved but each time it tries to roll back I get FAILED. Please tell me where I go from here? I am now stuck with this Version X79-UD5 F13wY 1APE Qyyyyyyyyyyy. and can not upgrade from file or from the internet.??????

Here is some thing you can try.
Newest Beta Bios:

Older Bios:

Try this. Make sure to follow directions carefully and exactly. If it does not work the first time try it again.
BIOS Recover Method Via Manually Invoking BACKUP BIOS Auto-Recovery
Using Power Supply - On/Off Switch
It is possible to make the BIOS Auto-Recovery kick in (Dual BIOS) and re-flash the MAIN BIOS with the contents of the BACKUP BIOS.
This is a simple and easy method for anyone to try before having to resort to other more difficult methods, or a RMA.
1. Shut off the power supply using the switch on the back of the PSU, wait 10-15 seconds.
2. Press and hold the case Power On swtich, then while still holding turn on the power supply from the switch on the rear.
3. Still holding the case power on switch, the board will start, once it does release the case power on switch and shut off the power supply via the switch on the read of the unit. (Do the latter two parts as quickly as you can once the board starts)
4. The board will shut down.
5. Turn the power supply back on using the switch on the rear of the unit.
6. Turn on the motherboard by pressing the case power on button.
Once the board starts this time you should see the Gigabyte splash screen, or POST page, then the Auto-Recovery from Dual BIOS will kick in. You will see a checksum error, and then recovery from BACKUP BIOS will begin. Once it is done reboot your machine and enter the BIOS and load optimized defaults then save/apply/reboot back to BIOS.
Now you are done, and will be using whatever BIOS was in your BACKUP BIOS, From there you can attempt whatever you were previously trying, or update your BIOS to the latest version.

There is no problem with F13W and Windows 7, provided the BIOS was installed properly. You should have used the latest version of @BIOS as stated by Gigabyte to perform the update. Are you sure that you have the correct version of Intel RST selected in the new BIOS? This MUST be the same as that used in your Windows installation if the OS is to load. Also have you checked that the BIOS is set to boot from the correct hard disk - i.e. the one with your Windows installation.
Also did you Load optimised defaults art the first boot after the BIOS update, and then re-boot and re-set the various BIOS settings to those you were using before the BIOS update?

Thank you for your replies gentlemen. My problem is this. I installed a GTX780 GPU. The machine would then not boot to Windows 7. The splash screen hung for about two minutes and the changed to a single cursor. I could not make input to the machine from either the mouse or the keyboard using either the USB or PS2 sockets. I then did as follows:
1. Removed the GTX780 and replace with an earlier model GPU (MSI R5870). I was then able to enter the BIOS by tapping the DEL key.
2. I upgraded the BIOS to F13 via an internet connection using @BIOS.
3. I then lost the Mother Board 3D image but was able to find my way through the menus to the PATA/SATA Device menu and ENABLE Legacy USB.
4. I then re-installed the GTX780 and the machine booted to Windows 7.
5. I was then able to enter the BIOS --> Peripherals --> Legacy USB --> (changed DISABLED to ENABLED)
Neither my User Manual or the online User Manual are the same as the Menus which appear on my screen. But it seems by sheer fluke and good luck I did something right because the machine now boots to Windows 7 and I can get into the BIOS. I do not know what I did to get to this point.
I have got a result but am NOT happy. If some kind person please give me the correct menu tree to change the GPU sockets to Legacy Mode, which I believe is the setting I should have, I will be very grateful.

Bios Features
PCI ROM Priority
Allows you to determine which Option ROM to launch. Options are Legacy ROM and EFI Compatible ROM.

Ahhh ..... thank you. That goes in my little black book. Ut seems with a pair of GTX780 in SLI that I need Legacy. I do not know what that means, yet ut I will use that setting and see how I go.
