Title: GA-X58A-UD7 with Radeon HD 6950 will not post
Post by: xiano8494 on November 22, 2013, 04:01:19 pm
I have just acquired a GA-X58A-UD7 motherboard but I am unable to get it to post with my Radeon HD 6950 graphics card.  The card spins up to full speed and the mother board does one long beep followed by two short beeps indicating a graphics card issue.  All power cables are plugged in.

If I try a different card (GeForce 7800GT) in the motherboard the PC posts and boots fine.  If I try the Radeon card in another motherboard (GA-EP35C-DS3R) the system boots fine!

I've updated to the latest stable BIOS (7).  Both the beta BIOS would not flash stating wrong file size, so I couldn't try them.

I've tried removing all but 1/2 sticks of RAM and that didn't help.  I have reset the BIOS to defaults.

Any ideas welcome.

Maybe you need a stronger PSU. Have a look at this topic:
