Title: GA-Z77X-D3H USB initializing problem pre boot
Post by: tiff_lee on December 03, 2013, 11:37:10 pm
Hi all,

having some snags with my Z77X-D3H and the initialization of USB headers prior to booting into the OS.

When I first installed the board I could get into the bios no problem and make all my tweaks etc but now I have it up and running if I restart or reboot the usb hasn't initialized by the time I reach the windows loading screen so unable to actually get into the bios.

Another example is of this is when windows failed to boot correctly and it gave me the option of load into the recovery environment or boot normally,  even with a 30 second timeout the usb hadn't initialized until it loaded into the recovery environment so I couldnt even select normal boot.

If I clear the cmos the usb initializes instantly and i'm presented with the bios options (load default etc) but once I load my profile which merely tweaks cpu multiplier and voltage) its back to the same old routine which leads me to think I may of actually changed something inadvertently but what?

The board is Rev1.1 and running F18 bios.

Just check to see if this set to enabled. You could always get a Ps/2 keyboard to do bios & other stuff for dos

Peripherals:

Legacy USB Support
Allows USB keyboard/mouse to be used in MS-DOS. (Default: Enabled)
