Title: No sound after installing GeForce GTX 560 on GA-H87-HD3
Post by: ercpe on January 01, 2014, 04:14:05 pm
I have some serious problems with the onboard sound card on my H87-HD3 after i temporarily added a GeForce GTX 560 to the system: The sound card is recognized and configured, but i have no sound on the jacks. I tried Windows 7 and various Linux distributions, all with the same result. The card is properly recognized, but no sound. I can see the green bar wipping when i play some music in the Windows audio settings so the card is working.  And yes, my headphones are working and i have tried the other jacks too.
The board is only a few days old and i definitely had it running before i put in the geforce (now i'm back to the IGP, so it's not an issue with the card).

What i have tried so far:
- Driver update (BIOS is already F5)
- BIOS: "Load defaults"
- Clear CMOS

I now suspect a hardware fault. What makes me wondering is that i can see the notifications if i plug in the headphone/micro (both, on Windows and Linux).

Any ideas?

Have you check the Audio Manager to see it is setup right in there. Plus click on the little arrow on your task bar.

Right click on the sound manager and click on the Audio sound. It might take some time to pop up. In there you check to make sure it is set right too.
