Title: GA-Z87X-UD5H USB issues
Post by: Dirtnapper on February 03, 2014, 06:58:14 pm
I am about ready to buy this board, but I read a lot about the USB 3 issues, where does it stand now, has this been resolved? What is the latest board version also?  Thanks.

I have this board with 4 8gb  Ram modules and no USB problems.
Most people with problems are using win 8, it's not worth it.
It's a great board.

Current project:
Win7 Pro 64 Bit
I7 4770k Haswell
GA-Z87X-UD5H rev 1, F7 Bios
32 gb quad channel (4x8gb) kit of Corsair Ram
Intel 520 240gb SSD
WD 500gb Black HDD Storage Drive
AX 850 Power Supply
Corsair 650D Case

I run the x79 boards and he is right about windows 8. I have a dual boot win 7 & 8.1

I can run the computer for ever with no problems with 7 but as soon as I start running 8.1 I get a BSOD

Now the thing is if I don't run a profile and just set the speed on the memory. Everything will run fine.

I'm a Microsoft Partner and I don't like windows 8. I have to promote it, but again I don't like it.

Plus I wouldn't come here to get a review on these boards. Go to the places that you buy the item from.

Had some news from gigabyte support ....concerning x79 ...new cpu series ie, 4820k etc ...and cpu frequency not being correct in windows 8.1 system properties, the engineers currently think its an issue between the cpu and the OS ...other brands of motherboards have been tested with the same outcome ....wrong cpu frequency when overclocking ....I don't know about default has ive not had my cpu at default since purchase ...anyway there you go ...it seems its windows 8.1 so far.

The thing ex58 I'm using a 3930k and I don't OC. It doesn't BSOD right off the bat but does here and there.

I don't get bent out of shape over it either. I'll just wait till they come up with a fix. I do feel sorry for some of these people with the Z87 boards.

People have to realize that it isn't always hardware. That yes it could be software. But you know they will always point their finger at the board.

Yes,you are right.....people always point finger first on board.
Btw,
I have no single problem with Z87X-OC board......except in Win 8.1 (BSOD...time to time)

I am now running the new F8 bios with XMP profile 1 for the Ram.
No problems with these 2 new changes so far.

I have no problems with this board either.
It's been a great board for overclocking and has plenty of features for me.

Yesterday, after starting the PC, all ports, front and back, stopped working. Sometimes had trouble with them, but nothing that serious.

Finally, after many restarts again recognizing the end, so I decided to update the BIOS.

Does anyone know if the latest version has solved these problems?

Thank you.

I'm planning to buy the same mono and I'm worried about the USB 3.0 issue.
It seems to be a USB 3.0 hub problem.

Sounds like this guy has found a solution:

let us know if it works out for you.
